Dr. Edward Baumgartner, Jr., M.D., is a Houston native passionate about enhancing patients’ functionality and quality of life through innovative Pain Medicine techniques. With over six years of practice in the Northwest Houston area, Dr. Baumgartner combines compassion with the latest advances in interventional pain management to deliver personalized care.
An Impressive Academic Journey
- Undergraduate: Bachelor of Biomedical Science, Texas A&M University (Magna Cum Laude, University and Foundation Honors).
- Medical School: University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (Alpha Omega Alpha Student Research Fellowship Scholarship recipient).
- Residency: Two years in General Surgery at University of Illinois-Mt. Sinai Hospital, followed by Anesthesiology residency at Rush University Medical Center, Chicago.
- Fellowship: Pain Medicine Fellowship at Rush University Medical Center.

As a proud Houston native, Dr. Baumgartner’s journey took him to Chicago for advanced training in Pain Medicine, but his heart remained in Texas. After completing his fellowship, he returned home to serve his community and raise his family with his wife. Today, he combines world-class training with a deep commitment to helping his neighbors in Houston live pain-free lives.
